This page provides more information about working conditions in the refrigeration and freezing industry. Various documents provide more insight into the risks and measures required to ensure a safe workplace. There are also several documents to help you develop your own occupational health and safety policy. These documents were developed based on company visits, interviews, and input from the occupational health and safety expert team, the technical committee, and a (certified) Senior Safety Officer. This ensures you have professional tools appropriate for the industry.

Risk Inventory and Evaluation (RIE)

For whom? Mandatory for the company. To be completed by management, the prevention officer (and, where applicable, the Works Council).


Content: This is a questionnaire used to identify and evaluate occupational health and safety risks for your company. Companies must have a current Risk Inventory and Evaluation (RI&E) that addresses:


  • the developments and processes within the company
  • the state of the art in the company and in the sector and the best available techniques
  • the current state of legislation and regulations



The RI&E consists of a questionnaire in which the relevant sections must be completed. Any issues not yet fully under control should be included in an action plan and scheduled over time. To provide a complete picture, a short questionnaire is also included with general information about the company (year founded, company size, absenteeism rate, etc.).
